Short but sweet discography. His two albums, along with Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt, are the three big ones of the late 90s. I'm pretty sure had he not died, he would definitely have been a defining rapper of the 2000s like Jay. Most rappers are defined by their beats (Kanye West) their flow and delivery (Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony) or their lyrics (Lupe Fiasco). Biggie's music covers all three - he doesn't produce, but he's fortunate to get to work with guys like the Bluez Brothers and DJ Premier.

And on top of that, every one of his tracks contains thought-provoking lyrics delivered masterfully. Everything is covered. And this is no easy feat, it's pretty difficult to think of another hip hop artist whose body of work is this perfect.
